| # 133 SAINT BERECHTIR CROSS | ||||
|
This 9th century cross is a beautiful example of early Celtic ornamentation. It is one of the earliest dated examples of Celtic art which has survived. The cross is covered with a diagonal key-pattern and a central circle is filled in with a wreath of interlaced knotwork, but leaving a small central circle to symbolize the motionless mover, God. |
