| # 170 DROMISKIN CROSS | ||||
|
Mounted on a modern shaft in the churchyard at Dromiskin is the head of a granite cross, near the Round Tower. Where it was originally located is unknown. The boss in the center of the cross is decorated with a spiral symbolizing continuous creation and spiritual growth: a symbol for eternal life and the ongoing search for spiritual fulfillment. Along the arms of the cross and along the shaft is simple knotwork. Knotwork is a symbol of continuity, eternal life, and expresses the interconnectedness of all things. |
